Best Things Google Assistant Can Do

Thanks to Voice Match on the Assistant, you can just say, "Hey Google, play Stranger Things on Netflix" and it will pick up right where you left off. "Luckily, the Google Assistant can help you wake up more peacefully", Google says in a blog post. This update also added the ability to use any of the songs you've uploaded/purchased on Google Play Music.

Tech giant Google is releasing an update on its Google Assistant platform, which will enable users to set music alarms via voice commands. Now, say "Hey Google, set an alarm for 6 AM that plays (insert your favorite song or artists) to the Assistant on Google Home or your other speakers".

The new features should become available for users around the globe soon, although Google didn't give a specific timeline. I wish Google would add an option to keep playing alarms until you physically touch a button on the Google Home, so you actually have to get out of bed. Once you let it know, the alarm is set, and you'll hear the requested song at the set time. You don't have to open an app to set the mood or to turn lights on and off, but you can just use voice commands. For example, in the shot below, Spotify is set as the default. HP also imagines a world where your voice assistant knows so much about your life that it will proactively print boarding passes for your flight just before it's time to leave for the airport. So, it could create a problem if you are using the same streaming service elsewhere, notes Android Police.

Google Home and Amazon Echo are the two leading smart speakers in the market, and each has similar capabilities.

Finally, Home will also answer your queries about a particular show's or what channel it is on. The first lets you ask when your favorite show is on next, or what channel it's on, and Google will be ready with the info. "And same for your roommate or partner", Google says.
