Nintendo Switch has Already Outsold Wii U

You can read up on more details about the premium online service from Nintendo's site. And there are no signs of slowing. If Kimishima is to believed, the company has every intention of supporting the Switch past the traditional Nintendo home console lifecycle of 5-6 years.

In recent years, Nintendo did an about-face to its past policy of shunning smartphone games, and has scored success in that sector as well.

Anyone that owns a Nintendo Switch is at risk of losing their data and thier progress if their console should become damaged or otherwise inoperational.

Nintendo Labo, set to go on sale April 20, is based on the idea that the Switch, which is a controller packed with sensors, can be used with different attachments for many kinds of play.

The Nintendo CEO also pointed out that the 3DS is critical to the company's business for its affordability and for being one of the first dedicated video game systems for children who have no previous experience with such a device.

As shown, from February onward we will be releasing a wide variety of new software titles one after the next.

As The Verge pointed out, hardware sales have been fueled by a fantastic year for games, too, thanks to hits like "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Super Mario Odyssey", loved by critics and customers alike. A three-month subscription will cost $8, while a monthly subscription would cost $4.

Nintendo Switch Online - What is it?

As previously revealed, Nintendo's new online service is meant to adopt a monetary scheme much like those of its competitors Sony and Microsoft. The players cannot only chat and interact with another but also view statistics, make purchases online and track and compare their performances with their peers. "The longer (the sales period) is, the better it will be", Kimishima said. On top of all that, Nintendo reported strong earnings from the Super NES Classic Edition, their downloadable markets, their mobile gaming endeavors, and their Amiibo line.
