New Gold Wireless Headset Hits Store Shelves Later This Month

Detailed on both the United States and EU PlayStation blogs, the headset "maintains the great features you loved about the Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0" but has a new design that sees it looking significantly less bulky, while the over-ear cushions have been "refined" for more comfort over longer gaming sessions. The new enhanced headset will soon be available across the region.

According to the PlayStation Blog, the new model will cost $99.99 and offers a svelte design with subtle over-ear cushions to accommodate gamers who enjoy extended gaming sessions. Also enhanced is the microphone, including noise-canceling technology to provide clearer communication.

Returning to the mix is high fidelity 7.1 virtual surround sound that intensifies your experience in PS4 games - delivering everything from thundering explosions to the crisp footsteps of unseen enemies. It's a great way to immerse yourself in The Inpatient, a recently launched PS VR exclusive horror experience, with the unsettling sounds of scuttling insects and unexplained noises inside the Blackwood Pines Sanatorium (In addition to PS VR, you'll need a PS4 system and PlayStation Camera to experience VR). Simply called the New Gold Wireless Headset, the updated model will retail for the same price ($100), and it comes with same features. The app allows you to load and save custom audio modes.
