Georgia Locks Up 2018's Top-Ranked Recruiting Class, Edging Ohio State

Georgia Locks Up 2018's Top-Ranked Recruiting Class, Edging Ohio State

There's a new No. 1 recruiting class in the country.

The south Georgia native had been trending to Tennessee for some time but coming off his final official visit to Athens leading up to National Signing Day, the pull to Georgia proved to be too much for Walker to resist. He's Georgia's seventh five-star in this class.

Wednesday's biggest victory was five-star cornerback Tyson Campbell of Plantation (Fla.), who chose the Bulldogs over Alabama and Ohio State. The Buckeyes then parried by landing 5-star offensive lineman Nicholas Petit-Frere, which put Urban Meyer and company back on top momentarily.

Georgia also flipped four-star linebacker Otis Reese from MI. Walker is an outside linebacker with outstanding size and speed to boot, standing at 6-foot-4, 238 pounds.

Despite owning the top class, Georgia didn't stop there.

The four-star linebacker from Crisp County High School in Georgia had three hats laid out in front of him at his signing ceremony - Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

This is a historic recruiting class for Georgia, that includes the No. 1 overall player in quarterback Justin Fields and the No. 1 overall running back in Zamir White.
