Vampyr Release Date Announced in Final Webseries Episode

Dontnod Entertainment's Vampyr, their follow-up to the critical darling Life is odd, garnered a lot of attention when it was announced in 2016 and left fans disappointed when it missed its late-2017 release window. The release date was unveiled during the final episode of the game's web series.

Life is unusual developer DONTNOD wrapped up their webseries today that takes a deeper look into their next game - Vampyr. If you're interested in sinking your teeth into it all, you can check out the fourth episode of the telling mini-series based on its development and get ready for June 5.

Narrative Director Stéphane Beauverger explained that players' actions (exploration, investigation, interactions with non-player characters, combat, and choices) are all intertwined with the narrative.

Game Director Philippe Moreau elaborates, saying that the relationship between a player and their character, as well as the direct feeling of control, is unique to games and something he has worked to make special in Vampyr.

In Vampyr, players take on the role of Jonathan Reid, a vampiric doctor who is forced to confront and balance his thirst for blood with the moral complexities that come with needing to survive. As a Vampyr, you are cursed to feed on those you vowed to heal.
