Kingdom Hearts III is getting a Monsters, Inc

Kingdom Hearts III is getting a Monsters, Inc

Lot of great news has been revealed at D23 in Japan concerning the release of Kingdom Hearts 3. That's going to change later this year when Kingdom Hearts 3 finally arrives...and that's not all that has changed!

Unfortunately, there's still no release date but it's been announced that we'll be getting a release date at E3. The Little Mermaid's Ariel makes an appearance, as well as Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep character Vanitas.

The world of Monsters Inc. is coming to Kingdom Hearts III. We also get to so Sora team up with popular Disney characters like Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Neither video contains the the full-length version, but you'll definitely be able to get a sense of the song.

According to publication site GameSpot the Gummi Ship part will be broken down into two parts. The developer also revealed that over at the Osaka studio, it's all-hands-on-deck with Kingdom Hearts 3, plus an additional 100 staff from its Tokyo studio. Development is split into three sections: Early, middle, and late.

The late phase of the game could be rather interesting, as director Tetsuya Nomura is putting "something he always wanted to do in Kingdom Hearts", into the game. There's supposedly around three worlds per section, but Square Enix have noted that this does not rule out more worlds beyond that number.

Considering that early trailers for the game showed a plastic-looking Sora and didn't even feature working health bars, it's pretty wonderful to see how far Square Enix have come in just a few years. Kingdom Hearts III is set to release on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
