Galaxy S9 to Open Up 'LTE Gigabyte Era'

Overall, the strong GPU upgrades combined with some modest CPU improvements do establish the Snapdragon 845 as the early leader in Android devices. This may have somewhat harmed performance scaling, though the Snapdragon 845 is faster than the 835, especially in floating point performance.

Initial benchmarks for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 CPU, which we'll see in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9, tip a 20-40 percent increase in web browsing performance over the Snapdragon 835, and a 15-30 percent improvement in graphics performance.

Naturally, it should be noted right here and right now that Geekbench results could be easily faked, but we have a hunch that the Exynos 9810 performance shown in this latest leak could be real.

Not surprisingly, a new benchmark has surfaced and it reveals the performance of the Exynos 9810 and to add a little spice to the entire result, it has faced off against the Snapdragon 845.

AnandTech recently of the Snapdragon 845 and put it to the 4 benchmark test. This new Snapdragon 845 was originally unveiled at the company's big event in Maui late a year ago. As stated, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 pocessor paired with Adreno 630 GPU on top. The A11 is severely thermally constrained and is only able to achieve these scores when the devices are cold. Maximum frequency on the Snapdragon 845 has been beefed up to 2.8GHz, compared to the 2.45GHz on last year's. The samsung Galaxy S9 will be formalized on the 25th of February, during the press conference held by Samsung in the framework of the MWC.

According to the mobile telecommunication service and hardware manufacturing industries, in theory, the Galaxy S9 can realize a telecommunication speed of up to one Gbps.

So far, only Xiaomi has confirmed it will use the Snapdragon 845 in its forthcoming flagship, the Mi 7.

Apart from the speed of the Snapdragon 845, it is also interesting to note that the Snapdragon 845 is also very power efficient which is very helpful in consuming battery life. Samsung has its new M3 products, there's fresh competition incoming from upstart device manufacturers like Huawei, and we won't really know how the Snapdragon 845 performs until we see it in shipping products.
