Lunar New Year Steam Sale Brings Killer Deals and Steam Wishlist Changes

Lunar New Year Steam Sale Brings Killer Deals and Steam Wishlist Changes

While the sale is all well and good though, the most impactful update with this sale period are the changes being made to Steam's Wishlist.

Over the course of this weekend, Steam users can save some major bucks on some of this year's biggest hits starting today, Feb. 15, 2018, until Monday, Feb. 19, 2018. First of all, various statuses will be displayed in the root wishlist list, including whether the game is in Early Access, what it's score rating is, and you'll be able to purchase without clicking through to the game page, too. We know from past Steam sales that recent game launches generally don't get discounts. There's also the option to see the price of games that are below your Steam Wallet balance, $5, or $10. This makes it easy to find the best co-op games on your Wishlist, or quickly find a discounted horror game. (My Steam wishlist now stands at over a hundred individual items.) Customers can sort by a number of factors including the order you've placed them in, price, review score, or by a few other metrics.

Other filters allow you to toggle early access, pre-release, and VR-only status.

In any case, if you want to check out the full Lunar New Year Sale, you can see the full list of games available at Steam now.

At the time of writing the wishlist filters and sorting improvements weren't available to me on the web or via the Steam client app unless I followed the link from the home page banner. Users may also view certain types of items on their wishlist, which includes games, software, DLC, and videos. Tags have been added to the wishlist viewer for all games, and the search option now extends to these tags in addition to game titles.

Finally, Valve has remedied one of the original Steam wishlist's more annoying omissions.
