MWC 2018: Nokia unveils five phones, iconic Nokia 8110 returns

After announcing the relaunch of the classic Nokia 3310 cellphone past year, the Finnish electronics company has revealed its bringing back another iconic design, the curved 8810.

For now there is no phone, but Nokia's 8110 4G will be available this May.

The iconic Nokia 8110 has also been updated, delivering 4G connectivity, apps including Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Search, Facebook and Twitter, and the return of the slider phone.

The new model is also far more capable than the original, and can run a range of popular apps. "Think of us as distant cousins, not siblings nor children", stated the KaiOS website. The phone has similar iconic curved slider design. Out of these five phones, four are Android smartphones and one is a feature phone. HMD has re-launched the Nokia phone seen in The Matrix.

Updated Nokia 8110 is a smartphone.

Nokia goes 'bananas' with new retro phone

The iconic phone Nokia 8110 is priced at Euro 79 which is approximately equal to Rs.6,300 (excluding taxes).

Samsung resumed its rightful place as the star of MWC's show with the launch of the Galaxy S9 and larger sister phone the Galaxy S9+ - two high-end devices representing the South Korean company's answer to deadly rival Apple's iPhone X.

HMD also announced three other smartphones Sunday, each running on the Android platform. There isn't a lot that manufacturers can do when it comes to processor speeds, and we've reached a point of diminishing returns in terms of the amount of RAM and storage that can be stuffed into a phone. In terms of camera, both devices have nearly same camera specs and features, but the new model comes with Zeiss optics.

Nokia 8 Sirocco Android One comes with dual camera setup, it comes with 12 Megapixel primary with 2L7 wide-angle lens and 13 Megapixel secondary with with 3M3 Telephoto lens rear camera with dual tone LED flash. It includes 512MB RAM and has 4GB of internal memory. We love what we're seeing and we hope Nokia's comeback under HMD Global will keep bringing us better and better phones. It has VoLTE calling, and even comes with a modern version of the game Snake. It offers 25 days of standby time and around 9 hours of calls.
