Powerball jackpot $321 million, Mega Millions $243 million; lottery results

Two lottery jackpots in MA will have a combined total of more than half a billion dollars this weekend, according to a statement from the lottery office.

The jackpot is the 33rd largest in lottery history - moving ahead of the $320 million prize handed out by The Big Game (now Mega Millions) on April 16, 2002.

Thursday, March 1, 2018 is the last day the prize can be claimed. One of those tickets sold also played the Power Play option to win $2 million. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 292,201,338 to 1. No one across the country won the second prize of at least $1 million in the drawing.

Each ticket cost $2 and if there is no victor declared, the next drawing will be announced on Tuesday. The Pennsylvania Lottery has an office at 49 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. However, at the same time, Mega Ball numbers were increased from 15 to 25, reported.

A vast number of MA residents spend $735 annually on lottery tickets, while Rhode Islanders are used to spending $514 a year to try their luck. The cash option is estimated at $143 million. Meanwhile, people living in DE or NY, are likely to spend about $400 a year, or $33 per month over lottery tickets.

Sunday's Fantasy 5 jackpot is an estimated $105,000.
