'Bachelor' star Arie Luyendyk Jr. says he'll take heat for switching fiancees

'Bachelor' star Arie Luyendyk Jr. says he'll take heat for switching fiancees

In The Bachelor Season 22 finale, Luyendyk Jr., proposed to publicist, Becca Kufrin, only to break up with her to be with her "final two" counterpart, Lauren Burnham, some weeks later. However, both Luyendyk Jr. and Burnham do have a few preferences when it comes to their big day. I'll never have that first engagement, that first proposal, again. "We're talking about an evening wedding or a sunset wedding", Luyendyk Jr. said.

Now, obviously, the heart wants what it wants, and there's nothing more or less legitimate about Lauren now that we know she's been engaged (twice, actually) before.

He speculated his ex might even be thankful for it. "I could tell that he was emotional, but there wasn't tears on his end", she said in the interview.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. had just recently made one of the most controversial decisions ever in the history of "The Bachelor" when he broke up with his final rose in order to get another chance with his runner-up.

On Monday night, after Arie's breakup with Becca aired during The Bachelor finale, Christensen took to his Twitter where he told his followers that he would write a bill banning Arie from Minnesota if he got a thousand retweets.

Kufrin, whose consolation prize is starring in the next season of "The Bachelorette", was to have joined in the ABC conference call but dropped out for scheduling reasons, the network said.

New details about Bachelor victor Lauren Burnham's past have surfaced, including the fact that she had been engaged prior to joining the show.

"And I wanted her that opportunity, honestly - I wanted her that opportunity to be the potential bachelorette", he added. The couple is planning to take a vacation before Lauren relocates from her current city of Dallas, Texas.

The former bachelor revealed how, after finishing things with Becca in L.A., he flew immediately to Virginia to reunite with Lauren.

Luyendyk said he stands by the outcome and his happiness. Lauren, on the other hand, didn't have too many questions about his mistake and she eagerly took him back. "But ultimately I needed to do what was best for me".
