'Fortnite Battle Royale' Heading To iOS, Android Mobile Devices

Nintendo wasn't the only ones with surprising news, Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite is coming to iOS and Android devices. The most interesting thing about this version of the game is that it will support Cross Platform Play and Cross Progression between the PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Mac, iOS and Android.

An authentic mobile port for Fortnite: Battle Royale makes sense as the market of potential players on consoles and gaming PCs starts to get saturated. From 12 March 2018, iOS users will be able to head to the Fortnite website and sign-up for an iOS Invite Event.

As for the cross-play support, Epic said you'll be able to join a squad and play together with friends on different platforms. The game will continue its worldwide dominance because it will now be released for mobile devices later this year too as announced by Epic Games. It will require a bit of a higher-end device, but it will offer the exact same game as on other platforms. Console quality graphics and action.

Mobile Version Announced with Cross-Platform Play with Nearly All Other Versions

So yeah, there you have it. Fortnite Battle Royale is coming to Android sometime in the next few months. Invites will be sent out via email with a link to download the game from the App Store. The company says it will be adding players over "the coming months" so it sounds like this is still going to be very much in the trial phase. One of the bigger changes is the way Battle Royale teams can now organize themselves into groups of 20. Your roommate plays it, you hear your boyfriend talk about it with his buddies or maybe you played it once at a friends' house.

While it's true that Steam's third highest earning game of all time, PUBG, often steals the spotlight, you can't ignore that other popular, and arguably better, last-man-standing title, Fortnite Battle Royale.

For the uninitiated, "Fortnite" is a cooperative survival game. Technically this is Fortnite Battle Royale, but we're shortening it like most users do. Part of its success might be due to how approachable the game is and how accessible it is. So, it was logical to come up with games like Fortnite Mobile.
