Sea of Thieves' Final Beta Is Open, and It's Live Right Now

We felt that getting our game into players' hands early, learning from their feedback and building a community around this game was critical for a new, shared world experience like Sea of Thieves. It provides the developers with "an opportunity to grow our scale testing to our largest number yet" as well as bringing additional features on board for testing. They will also have the opportunity of stumbling upon an occupied Skeleton Fort while playing, providing more intense gameplay. This beta will be the final one before the game's release date in a few weeks and is open to everyone on Xbox One and PC.

These quests require players (shipmates) to collect animals from distant ports then ferry them back to safety.

Aside from that you'll also potentially have to deal with other players who have seen the signal. Might they even be there already? On top of that, Sea of Thieves' Xbox One X enhancements will be available during the final beta as well.

Progression in Sea of Thieves is a little nebulous at the moment, but there are some bits and bobs we can pull together to get an idea of how it all works. To install, you will just need to search for and install the Sea of Thieves Final Beta. "We can't wait to watch and find out". But before it does, it's set to have one last final Sea of Thieves beta this weekend, running now through 2 a.m. PST (10 a.m. GMT) on Sunday, March 11.

Since this is the most players Sea of Thieves has had to handle, Rare warns that you should expect some hiccups, and it might block new players getting into the game intermittently, when problems occur. The objective of this is because Rare wants to ensure everyone receives the best possible experience while playing through the Final Beta.

Those participating in the beta should keep in mind that Rare might put a hold on other players joining sessions during peak play hours. Most excitingly, we've seen many, many fantastic stories from our players, and recently we allowed them to share these with the world during our Closed Beta.
