Trump Lawyers Consider Trying To Block Stormy Daniels Interview From Air

CBS's news magazine 60 Minutes has secured an interview with the porn actress who says she had an affair with President Trump, though the network has yet to announce when the segment might air.

Daniels' attorney spoke the morning after she sued Trump in Los Angeles Superior Court, saying a non-disclosure agreement about their "intimate" relationship is invalid because the then-New York businessman never signed it.

The adult film performer, Stephanie Clifford, who uses the stage-name Stormy Daniels, granted an interview last week to correspondent Anderson Cooper, who posed for a photograph that Clifford's attorney circulated on social media.

BuzzFeed noted that details of the legal strategy were not immediately clear. BuzzFeed said it had learned that CBS plans to air the interview on March 18.

"We understand from well placed sources they are preparing to file for a legal injunction to prevent it from airing", the source said.

Avenatti also questioned claims by Trump attorney Michael Cohen that he paid Daniels from his own account, and suggested the money may have come from Trump himself.

An injunction would be the latest in a series of moves to silence Daniels, including a restraining order the president's lawyers obtained recently. "A judicial "gag order" against Ms. Daniels or CBS would constitute a "prior restraint" of speech, which under First Amendment doctrine is nearly never permissible", Peters said.
