Sign-ups for the iOS version actually began today and reports say there were so many people attempting to sign up that the site crashed briefly.

100 players are dropped in a map and battle it out in a massive death match until the last one left alive is declared the victor. While mobile games do not usually have a cross-play with the PC servers, "Fornite" mobile will actually have support for cross-play with the PC.
