Conte dismisses Vialli comments: I am committed to Chelsea

Antonio Conte fiercely denied comments by former team-mate Gianluca Vialli that he is desperate to leave Chelsea, and that despite being sad and angry with his season he wants to remain in west London.

Conte, though, revealed he had not spoken to Vialli since dining with him past year and insisted he was not hoping to be sacked - even though it could land him around pounds £9m in compensation. The people who stay very close to me they know very well my intentions - to stay, to stay here, to continue my job here.

"I think that this will be very important, then there is the game".

"I predicted this but these are moments we have to face with great desire to change the situation".

"The only truth is I'm committed to this club. Sometimes, it is very hard to sleep".

Speculation that Conte will leave Stamford Bridge this summer remains rife with Chelsea set to miss out on a Champions League spot next season.

Antonio was also quick to send on his condolences to Ray's family when speaking at his pre-match press conference and said that everyone connected with Chelsea will be ready to remember our former midfielder on Sunday, as we welcome West Ham to Stamford Bridge. I consider him a friend.

"It's very hard. I understand because he is now a journalist and he has to give news to Sky and to try to speak about my situation". He is trying to give his opinion and this is his opinion, it is not my opinion. It is not my opinion. But I see two different situations and it is not right to mix the situations. We cannot complain or cry, this is the only way we can react if we want to finish in the best possible way'.

But Conte says he has not spoken to Vialli in a long time, insisting his compatriot's comments simply add to the speculation about his future which has been an ongoing theme for much of the season.

'He was a legend for this club and an ambassador for football as a whole.
