D'Antoni: Rockets need rhythm back, not rest

"[The Spurs] played 10 times harder than we did", Houston coach Mike D'Antoni said.

In Denver, Nikola Jokic had 35 points and 13 rebounds, Jamal Murray scored 18 of his 27 points after the third quarter and the Nuggets rallied from eight down in the final minute of regulation to win in overtime.

In Oakland, Kevin Durant had 29 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, and Golden State overcame a sloppy start to hand Phoenix its franchise-record 15th consecutive loss.

With that triple the @HoustonRockets set a new National Basketball Association single season record for 3-pointers made!

Health is obviously critical to the Rockets' title chances, but there's little reason for D'Antoni to be overly concerned about his players' workload with five games left in the regular season.

Harden said the Rockets "coasted these last few games", while Ariza added Houston "definitely [doesn't] want to go into the playoffs playing the way that we've been playing these past few games".

Their own, from a year ago.

Rockets: Houston's previous low point total came in a 103-89 loss to Memphis on October 28. He has committed just one turnover against those 21 assists and has more blocks (two) than turnovers. So, who's record did they break? Now, they're largely considered the best team in the National Basketball Association this season.

Head to head, the road team is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings, the Suns are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 19-7 ATS in the last 26 meetings in Houston.

Houston have covered in nine of their last 12 games against Western Conference foes but are 3-8 versus the number in their last 11 against Pacific Division teams and 3-8 in their last 11 home games against teams with a sub-.400 road winning percentage.

"If young people have options and they can choose, 'Do I want to be a professional athlete and play this game for money, or do I want to play this game as part of a higher educational experience, gain all the advantages and benefits that come with being a college student and take advantage of everything that's there for me, and then maybe play professionally afterwards or maybe not, ' then they need to make that decision", Emmert said.

The Rockets (62-14) have clinched home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. Tip-off time is 8 pm EDT.
