OnePlus 6 to be announced on May 5

A new image of the OnePlus 6, leaked on Weibo and spotted by GSMArena, shows that the DxOMark review of the OnePlus 6 is underway.

Apart from the original variant of the OnePlus 6 smartphone, the company aims to launch a couple of special edition of this phone. The glossy appearance points to a metal back with glass on top.

This translates into a device which would allow end users to play the most demanding games, record 4K videos on a stretch and seamlessly switch to background apps without breaking a sweat. Thanks to a very active rumours and leaks community, we have been receiving information regarding the upcoming flagship phone from the Chinese manufacturer at least once or twice a week.

The display notch is another key highlight of the device. It's called chin and OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei had eralier confirmed that there was nearly no way for Android phone makers to get rid of the chin the way Apple had done with the iPhone X. The phone also seems to be retaining the hardware buttons in the familiar OnePlus positions, including the Alert Slider, which is, in turn, rumoured to adjust the focus while shooting pictures. The bottom lip is noticeable but is still pretty slimmer than the current OnePlus 5T. Also, one of the OnePlus 6 variants will come with 256GB of inbuilt storage.

Based on preliminary leaks, OnePlus 6 is expected to come with a 6.28-inch Full HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) Optic AMOLED display and 19:9 aspect ratio. The main specifications of the upcoming OnePlus 6 have already been confirmed by the company officials. The latest OnePlus device will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with at least 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is seen with rear panel fingerprint sensor.

There is no exact date announced yet for the launch date of OnePlus 6 smartphone. What is distinctly visible is the notch, which we've already seen through a render officially shared by OnePlus with The Verge recently. According to the source, the 64GB variant of the OnePlus 6 will carry a price tag of $523 or Rs. 34,000.
