Champions League In Focus - Bayern Munich vs Sevilla Preview

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes says he hopes Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool side reach the UEFA Champions League last four at the expense of Manchester City, managed by former Bayern supremo Pep Guardiola.

"They will certainly go on the offensive", Heynckes said. In the build-up to the second leg one online poll on Sevilla website Estadio Deportivo had 82 per cent of supporters voting "no" to the question: "Do you see Montella in charge next season?"

The possible Sevilla and Bayern Munich line-ups and formations.

"It would be a sensation if we won the Champions League".

Bayern are virtual ever-presents at European football's top table but they are yet to really look up to that standard this season.

The Bavarian giants have been merciless recently at the Allianz Arena, demolishing both Hamburg and Borussia Dortmund 6-0 in their last two home games.

As for Sevilla, they suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Celta Vigo over the weekend.

Bayern could yet repeat their 2013 treble, as they face Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals of the German Cup later this month for a place in the May 19 showpiece.

"Bayern could knock anyone for six if they're on a roll".

Kenedy joined Newcastle on loan in January after finding himself out of Antonio Conte's first-team plans at Stamford Bridge, and his impressive form - two goals and two assists in eight Premier League appearances - has put him on the radar of several of Europe's biggest clubs. Thomas Muller has been exceptional since Heynckes came back to the team. James Rodriguez has chipped in as well. They have great depth and experience at centre-back in Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels.

That's pretty good going in anyone's book both for longevity and just for sheer amount of success, and those lads very much have Sir Alex Ferguson to thank for having to spend a lot of money on trophy cabinets. "Lewandowski gets the headlines and plaudits for his goals, but the team is complete".
