Man Committed Bank Robbery To Impress Taylor Swift

He was even planning to be a bit of a philanthropist and donate a portion of his stolen money to the Ansonia police department, who arrested him in CT. He also told police that he threw the cash over Swift's fence onto her mansion's lawn.

When the singer failed to show, Rowley made a decision to drive home.

He was spotted by state troopers in Rhode Island, and led them on a chase back to CT.

That's when a man entered the branch and passed a note indicating he was armed and demanded money, Halton police allege.

"Rowley reported that he tried to contact Swift however she was not home".

Police said during the transport back to Ansonia, Rowley "spontaneously uttered that he planned on donating some of the money that he stole from the bank to the Ansonia PD".

His charges in San Mateo County are for separate robberies at a gas station in Pacifica and a liquor store in San Bruno last month.

A suspect accused of robbing two Burlington banks in one day is behind bars on Tuesday.

Rowley was spotted April 5 driving on I-95 in Rhode Island in a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, police said.

Eventually, CT state troopers were able to stop Rowley's vehicle at exit 89 where he was then taken into custody.

Rowley was arraigned Friday in Superior Court in Derby.

Police said no weapon was seen, and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
