TV Host Resigns from Sinclair's KDNL after David Hogg tweet

TV Host Resigns from Sinclair's KDNL after David Hogg tweet

"Busy working. Preparing", read the March 26 tweet, which is too vulgar to reprint here in full.

A Sinclair Broadcast talk show was canceled Monday after its host, Jamie Allman, wrote an explicit tweet about assaulting a survivor of the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

The radio station is affiliated with the Fox News network, and as such, generally hosts conservative commentators such as Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Brian Kilmeade, and shows such as "Coast to Coast AM with George Noory", and "This Morning, America's First News with Gordon Deal".

"We have accepted Mr. Allman's resignation, and his show has been cancelled", said Ronn Torossian, the CEO of the PR firm 5W, who is acting as a Sinclair spokesman, said in response to questions sent to the media company by The Washington Post.

Atlantis Paradise Island Resort said in a statement that while the company believes in free speech, they also "do not condone discrimination, bullying, mockery or harmful behavior of any kind".

Ingraham opened her program, "The Ingraham Angle", with a 10-minute monologue about the "squelching of free speech" by the left and deemed such efforts "Stalinist, pure and simple".

Allman made the derogatory remarks on his social media in March.

Sinclair is the largest owner of local television stations in the country, with 173 stations in 81 broadcast markets, and is now awaiting federal approval of a takeover of Tribune Media, which would extend the broadcaster's reach to almost 70 percent of households in America. Some 19 companies responded by saying they wouldn't air commercials on Ingraham's show. Ingraham later apologized to Hogg, but almost 20 companies pulled advertising from her show, which she returned to last night after a week's vacation.

Ultimately, Ingraham opted to take a step back and head out on a week-long vacation while some special guests fill in for her.

Ingraham hasn't discussed that episode specifically but promised upcoming stories about conservatives who she says are fighting attempts to silence them.

"It's time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children", Hogg wrote.

Allman's Twitter account is now "locked", which means anyone who wants to see his tweets first has to request his permission to follow him. Even though we hadn't asked for his removal or resignation, (Sinclair) took it upon themselves.

Sinclair has been under fire after a video showing dozens of anchors warning the public about "fake news" - a term widely used by President Trump - went viral.
