C'Wealth Games: Ogunlewe, Adegoke Flop In 100m Final

Ghana's Hor Halutie failed to get a medal after finishing last in the women's 100m final at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Browning just missed out on a spot in the title race when he and South African Henricho Bruintjies were both timed at 10.26 seconds in their semi-final on Sunday.

Ogunlewe, who started in lane 2 ran alongside compatriot Enoch Adegoke, who finished seventh while Britain's Adam Gemili withdrew due to injury.

"I am so proud to represent team England and it's devastating not to have the chance to compete tonight but the doctors have said I am unable to take part".

Gemili was expected to be one of the closest challengers to Jamaica's Yohan Blake in the blue-riband event at the Games, which will take place in the Carrara Stadium at 1.15pm BST today.

'I want to thank everyone for their kind messages of support and love.

The thigh injury also means Gemili is ruled out of the 4x100m relay later in the Games.

The 2010 Commonwealth champion tore his hamstring in training.

Gemili said on Sunday: "I had a bit of an adductor injury a few day ago and I did feel it a little in the semi-final".

Greene was due to begin his competition with the heats on Tuesday.
