Dez Bryant is not the answer for Panthers' problems at WR

Dez Bryant is not the answer for Panthers' problems at WR

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement that releasing Bryant "was not an easy decision" but it was done for what was in the best interest of the Cowboys.

The New York Giants have always been in the market for another receiver to go along with Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard, and that's compounded by Brandon Marshall's somewhat murky future. While general manager Brian Gutekunst has other holes to address on his roster, it would be relatively surprising if he doesn't use a pick on a reciever before the third day of the draft. There's no more feeling the need to force feed Dez at times.

Dez's legacy with the Cowboys will ultimately be his X. And that ball he caught in Green Bay that was not ruled a catch until three years later.

Secondly, after being released by the Cowboys, Bryant sent out a tweet that includes Western New York's favorite word.

Intrigue indeed continuing to build. That's a huge wow?? take 2 I'm ranting and going off on the media whenever I'm just being normal Dez in my everyday life.

Could Dez Bryant throw up the X at New Era Field in 2018? Chide Jerry for being too meddlesome with the Cowboys, but he normally listens to the people he employs.

Less than two weeks away from the 2018 NFL Draft, wide receiver is among the positions the Bills need to address, but a signing like Bryant could change that. Bryant has had a drop off in production due to a lack of opportunities, but make no mistake: he's ready to play, and he'll be back with a vengeance.

Maybe Cole Beasley hit a growth spurt this off-season. Maybe free agent addition Richard Rodgers develops into a touchdown threat inside the 20.

The Cowboys already had begun to rework their wide receiver corps this offseason, signing Allen Hurns and Deonte Thompson as free agents. Nonetheless, some team will.

Schneider intriguingly said at the NFL league meetings last month that the Seahawks were not talking to Thomas about an extension after having said at the Combine a few weeks earlier that the team was in contact with Thomas' people. In New England, they call it "The Patriot Way". Belichick, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are working through some issues at the moment. If someone don't like me, I would love to know that.

And that's great, provided your quarterback is one of the most accurate passers in the history of the sport. For now, the Panthers should look elsewhere to solve their problems at receiver. Behind Fitzgerald, Arizona's depth at receiver is pretty thin, making Bryant a viable option.

Bryant tweeted about the departure, telling fans it wasn't his decision to leave the team.
