Former FBI coworkers to James Comey: What have you done to us?

Former FBI coworkers to James Comey: What have you done to us?

Comey's interview is part of a tour to promote his forthcoming book A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership, which will be released Tuesday.

In his Sunday tweets, Trump took issue with a number of the claims in the Federal Bureau of Investigation director's memoir, including the revelation that the 2016 presidential election polls may have influenced Comey's handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe. In it, Comey wrote that Trump, in a private meeting, pressed the then-FBI director for his loyalty. Trump said on Twitter. "His "memos" are self serving and FAKE!" said one tweet.

"Two or three briefings is about what I had with James Comey", Ryan, who announced his retirement last week, told NBC's Chuck Todd on "Meet the Press".

In yet another tweet, Trump accused Comey of throwing former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch "under the bus".

Comey's recent behavior has been equally puerile, with the former head of one of the most powerful agencies on Earth lending credence to a patently absurd conspiracy theory involving Trump and prostitutes. Comey violated FBI's policies for handling sensitive government documents and may have broken the law by mishandling classified documents.

However, the president's tweets also had the unintended effect of promoting Comey's book, which has already rocketed up the charts on Amazon's bestseller list despite the fact that it doesn't officially release until Tuesday.

"We find that Mr. Comey has a revisionist view of history and seems like a disgruntled ex-employee, afterall he was sacked", Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway added.

Comey said the president was also obsessed with the alleged existence of a video in which Russian prostitutes said to be hired by Trump urinated on the bed in a Moscow hotel room.

Trump's tweets included numerous allegations that are unproven and unverified. Trump seized on that, saying Comey "was making decisions based on the fact that he thought she was going to win, and he wanted a job".

He was sacked by Trump in May 2017. "We simply looked at each other in silence", said Comey in a written testimony to Congress.

Comey, who was appointed in 2013 by former President barackobama, writes that he summarizes his technique plus a few of the wording he utilized within his July 2016 media conference in.

Third, Trump gets into his claim that there's a partisan conspiracy working against him - claiming former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is corrupt, and that this is all somehow actually Hillary Clinton's fault.

After Clinton's loss, many Democrats blamed Comey, and Clinton herself has said it hurt her election prospects.

Asked how freaky that meeting with Trump was, Comey said: "Very weird".
