King Hamad, King Salman review latest developments

Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz took to his official Twitter account on Sunday to express the kingdom's pleasure to host their "brothers" at the Arab League summit in Dhahran.

He highlighted the crises in the region, holding the Iran-backed Houthis militias responsible for the ongoing Yemeni crisis.

Saudi Arabia welcomes the United Nations" statement that denounced the launching of "Iranian-made' ballistic missiles by Houthi militants to hit Saudi cities, King Salman said.

King Salman vowed full support to all efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the crisis in Yemen in accordance with the GCC Initiative as well as the decisions of the comprehensive national dialogue conference and the Security Council Resolution 2216.

He therefore called for a "strong international" stance on Tehran's behavior.

The King was addressing the 29th session of the Arab Summit at King Abdulaziz International Cultural Center, an architectural masterpiece, in Dhahran on Sunday.

"The Palestinian cause is our primary cause and it will remain so until our fraternal Palestinian people obtain all of their legitimate rights, starting with the establishment of an independent state, whose capital is east Jerusalem", he stressed. In December 2017, Trump reversed decades of US policy by announcing the United States' recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the move of its embassy to Jerusalem.

King Salman therefore rejected and condemned the American administration's decision to relocate its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, hailing the worldwide denouncement of Washington's decision.

UN General Assembly Secretary-General António Guterres, African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki, and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini are among the attendees.
