Today's Cup race at Bristol: Start time, lineup and more

Persistent inclement weather has pushed the conclusion of the Food City 500 to Monday after rain continually delayed the NASCAR Cup Series race Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway. The No. 41 team has to go to a backup auto and will forfeit their second place starting spot.

To get the pole for Sunday's 500-lapper, Busch had to ease past brother Kurt, who was second fastest in qualifying at BMS. "He seemed to say that he missed the corner a little bit more maybe than I did, but you know all in all it was a great day for the Busch brothers to be up front and looking forward to starting the race on Sunday".

Blaney paced the field in a practice session that saw Cup drivers AJ Allmendinger spin coming out of turn two on the backstretch and later saw Kevin Harvick smack the outside wall coming out of turn four.

Last year's Food City 500 victor Jimmie Johnson was 14th in the practice session while teammate Alex Bowman, driving the 88 Nationwide Chevrolet was the highest finishing Hendrick vehicle in practice, placing seventh with a 14.482 time and a 129.282 speed navigating around The Last Great Colosseum.

Completing the top five were Denny Hamlin (126.997.mph), Kurt Busch (126.537mph), Michael McDowell (126.295mph). Former Bristol winners Kyle Busch (128.934 mph) and Kasey Kahne (128.830 mph) rounded out the top-five. He turned a fast lap of 129.877 miles per hour.

TV/RADIO: Fox will broadcast the race beginning at 1 p.m. Race coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. Performance Racing Network's radio broadcast begins at noon and also can be heard at
