John Cena, Nikki Bella reportedly split over one major issue

John Cena, Nikki Bella reportedly split over one major issue

Brie Bella thinks it might have been for the best that twin sister Nikki Bella called off her engagement to John Cena.

But he got down on one knee and proposed to Nikki in April 2017.

"I do want to be a mom", Bella told Cena on "Total Divas" five years ago.

Many fans assumed it was John Cena who got cold feet and put the kibosh on the couple's wedding plans-the previously married WWE star had always been vocal about his reluctance to ever marry again-but an insider told People it was Nikki Bella who ultimately ended things over Cena's attitude about marriage and kids. "He's an incredibly dedicated, driven, ambitious guy". "They were not on the same page in that respect", the source continued.

The source added: "But in that case, he never should've proposed, let alone in front of millions of people".

Cena and Bella announced their split on Sunday with a statement released via Twitter: "While this decision was a hard one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another".

John told his fans, "Anybody feeling down, check out #WaltWhitman has always been a helpful voice in times of crisis".

The professional wrestlers were set to Wednesday during an intimate ceremony in Mexico on May 5. "We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives", it added. And I love that, so that happens to me 10 times before it would be a, "Yo man I love your work". I love John but maybe he knows that he doesn't want to be with me forever?' Since that time, Bella has been mostly quiet, but Cena posted a poetry quote by Walt Whitman that said: "We were together".

Bella had already picked out her dream wedding dress - a gown from Marchesa - and decided on a black tie dress code for the big day.

Of course, numerous Redditors are genuinely heartbroken about Cena and Bella going their separate ways, for good this time, as it appears to be. In fact, a new teaser for the May 20 premiere of "Total Bellas" reveals that the issue of whether to start a family may have played a part in the breakup.

Interestingly, while promoting his latest movie, Blockers, Cena admitted that playing a dad in the film had "certainly changed" his perspective on fatherhood.

We're sure it will all become clear soon.
