Syrian forces pound districts held by militants

Syrian regime's warplanes are bombing a district where the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp is situated in, putting the lives of 12,000 displaced people in danger. Chris Gunness, spokesman for the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA), said the bombardment had pushed most Yarmuk residents to flee their homes and put the area's last hospital out of service.

"Negotiations have been going on to try to give safe passage to those ISIS fighters to desert areas, but those clearly broke down and the army has gone in and gone in very heavy", Rivers said.

The troops from the Al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood, where the key forces of the adversary are concentrated, are advancing towards them.

On Sunday, Sweden's Ambassador to the United Nations said he and other Security Council envoys had agreed to work on a "meaningful mechanism" to work out who was behind the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria.

"Yarmouk has been transformed into a death camp, like one of the lower regions of hell".

President Bashar al-Assad has escalated his military campaign to retake all remaining enclaves in the capital and surrounding areas.

Regime leader Bashar al Assad, backed by Iran and Russian Federation, is seeking to crush the last few besieged opposition enclaves, building on the defeat of fighters in the eastern Ghouta region, which was the opposition groups' last major stronghold near the capital.

Meanwhile, rebels have begun evacuating three towns in the eastern Qalamoun region in the Damascus countryside. In addition to a Daesh (ISIS)* which has been reduced to a few pockets of resistance in eastern Syria, militant opposition is concentrated in the Daara and Quneitra governates in the country's southwest and near the Israeli and Jordanian borders, a pocket northeast of the city of Homs, and territories in the Idlib and Aleppo governates near the Turkish border.

Separately, Iraq said its forces killed 36 Daesh militants, including six leaders, in air raids this past week in Syria.

A video of Thursday's operation showed two F-16 fighter jets destroying a house in eastern Syria.
