Google is using a technology called WaveNet to smooth out the Assistant's voice for a more natural, conversational experience. FreeTime blocks access to Alexa features like shopping, news, or third-party services, and also encourages kids to say please and thank you via a feature called Magic Word. We've dramatically improved our language understanding so you can speak naturally to your Google Assistant and it will know what you mean. It makes sense to have voice commands to control the air conditioner, no one likes you fucking with the thermostat, especially not your dad. Better yet, the app will remember what you usually order, and suggest it to you, making the entire process easy and fast. As the Huffington Post recently noted, half a billion Apple devices have Siri on them; Amazon sold tens of millions of Alexa-enabled devices during the 2017 holiday shopping spree, and Microsoft's Cortana has nearly 150 million active monthly users.
