Moses Fired Up For Chelsea Trip To Newcastle

The midfielder has put his early-season troubles behind him with some fantastic performances for the Tynesiders and there have been calls for him to be included in Southgate's final squad ahead of Arsenal's Jack Wilshere.

The visitors were completely flat during the game and looked to be on holiday already, despite having the FA Cup final to play next weekend against Manchester United.

Wednesday's 1-1 draw against Huddersfield at the Stamford Bridge further cast doubts on their chance of moving into the four.

"It looked to me like everyone had one eye on the cup final which is very unsafe and we were lucky the game was kind of irrelevant".

"Probably I can change something, but not because I am thinking about the FA Cup final, only because someone could be exhausted after two tough games in three days". They have lost four games in a row and there is no denying that they have appeared to be complacent in their endeavours lately.

It was a superb finish to an encouraging first season back at the highest level and left Benitez's men inside the top-half of the table and just 10 points off Burnley who took the final European spot for next season. This was a terrible way to bring his second - and surely final - Premier League campaign to an end.

"Finally, I would like to thank the fans for their unrivalled support of Rafa and the team throughout the season".

The hosts must do without Kenedy, who is ineligible to face his parent club.

Ciaran Clark and Christian Atsu will play no part either as the duo remain sidelined with knee injuries.

Thibaut Courtois, Gary Cahill, Emerson Palmieri, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Eden Hazard, Victor Moses, Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud all came into the starting line-up, however, they failed to make the desired impact throughout the game.
