Here are some of the Cannes Festival jaw-dropping looks

Some even act on it, like Kristen Stewart, who ditched her heels on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet to march up the steps in her bare feet. In this occasion, Golden Palm Jury will be headed by the well known Australian actress Cate Blanchett, mainly composed by women, while the Certain Regard section will be headed by the Puerto Rican filmmaker Benicio Del Toro. The trio and French actress Lea Seydoux, who are all members of the jury at this year's event, with Cate acting as president, oversaw proceedings as Cannes director Thierry Fremaux and his colleagues Edouard Waintrop, Charles Tesson and Paolo Moretti formally promised to promote equality and greater inclusivity. Only 82 female directors have ever competed for the festival's top prize, the Palme d'Or, since 1946 compared with nearly 1,700 male directors. "We stand together on these steps today as a symbol of our determination to change and progress".

"We hope that it will reinforce the realization that the world is not the same anymore", Fremaux said. "We must question our history and our habits". Husson is one of three female filmmakers out of the 21 movies in competition for the Palme d'Or this year.

Jane Campion is the only female filmmaker to ever win the Palme. To make visible the list of the members of selection committees and programmers - with the aim of eliminating any suspicion of a lack of inclusion and parity while allowing the festival to fully pursue its editorial and strategic choices.
