Celtics survive 42-point night by LeBron, down Cavs

Showing himself to be a true lion-hearted teammate, Marcus Smart almost got himself ejected going after Smith.

Marcus Smart calls it playing free, and that's how the Celtics emotions erupted last night.

Smart defended his reaction during the post-game press conference, telling reporters that it wasn't the first time that JR has "done some dirty stuff, especially against us". "We moved on to the next play way and we locked in after that". "One of my guys was down, and I took offense to it". Not only is he arguably the world's most avid celebrity golfer, he might love the game we love more than anyone on this planet. "You've got to stand up and that's what I tried to do". Smith was involved, though he was not alone in those missed assignments."A few miscommunications", coach Tyronn Lue said. "It wasn't like I was trying to lowbridge him or something to make sure he didn't get it".

"They're going to play physical", Thompson said.

Smart and Celtics took Game 2, but no doubt the league should be looking at Smith's unsafe actions further in the coming week.

In the first two games of the series against the Cavaliers has been a thorn in the side of the opponent with his all-around play averaging 10.0 points, 7.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per contest.

A year ago, Kyrie Irving averaged 25.8 points in the Cavs' five-game rampage over the Celtics in the conference finals.

And they certainly need more from Smith, whose frustration surfaced at the worst possible time when his hard foul on Horford riled up the Celtics and their rowdy crowd. He was a ghost against the Pacers in the opening round, shooting 31 percent from the three-point line while averaging 8.6 points across seven games.

At least Smith can admit that he blatantly fouled him, but it was the way in which he did it that makes it so outrageous. Cleveland had 15 turnovers leading to 13 Boston points. "They're gooning the game up and we've got to do the same thing". I think they're playing tougher than we are.
