Trump lists reimbursement to Michael Cohen; ethics office says disclosure was required

The president's new personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, revealed on national television that Trump had reimbursed Cohen earlier this month, thereby contradicting the president's claim that he knew nothing of the payment to Stormy Daniels. However, Cohen has paid $130,000 to an adult film actress, Stephanie Clifford, who has claimed she had an affair with Trump. The president has vehemently denied any such relationship took place.

"In 2016, expenses were incurred by one of the Donald J. Trump's attorneys, Michael Cohen", reads the form, which was released by the Office of Government Ethics. The report says Trump did not have to disclose the payment but is doing so "in the interest of transparency".

The US Office of Government Ethics released the 92-page document, which relates to the calendar year 2017. "If the [Justice] Department is not already investigating the president's failure to disclose the loan past year, it should open an investigation immediately".

Following a meeting with Cohen, the company determined that he and his firm would in fact not be able to provide the services it sought, it explained.

"Fascinated by OGE's decision to make this referral public", he continued.

Personal gifts disclosed by Trump include golf-related items from two professional golfers: a golf bag and clubs worth $1,150 from Kevin Streelman and $750 clubs from Bryson Dechambeau.

In the letter, the head of the OGE, David Apol, reiterates that his office has concluded the debt to Cohen was "required to be reported".

"Novartis believed that Michael Cohen could advise the company as to how the Trump administration might approach certain USA healthcare policy matters, including the Affordable Care Act", Novartis said.

The president's company has also been stymied by some of the new ethics restrictions it voluntarily adopted after the election.

"We have the best properties in the world; they're doing extraordinarily well", Eric Trump said.

Trump's disclosure will also be the first extended look at how his businesses have performed since he became president in January 2017.

And Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, which the president frequents in the winter months, saw revenues of $25.1 million.

The disclosure shows Trump had at least $511 million in income in 2017, according to Bloomberg.
