Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors - 6/8/18 NBA Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The defending champion Golden State Warriors overcame a hot start by the Cleveland Cavaliers to earn a 110-102 victory on Wednesday and take a 3-0 stranglehold on the best-of-seven NBA Finals.

Durant hit an absurdly long three-pointer with less than a minute left to give Golden State a six-point lead, part of his 43-point, 13-rebound performance. The Warriors blew the game wide open thanks to Curry's inspired play.

His final stat line said it all: 33 points on 11-of-26 shooting including 9-of-17 from beyond the arc, and a ideal 5-of-5 from long distance in the fourth quarter. But Curry scored on a layup on the Dubs' next possession and followed that up with his only triple of the night to put Golden State up four - 101-97.

But throughout the Finals, the production has certainly been lacking from the majority of the Cleveland players outside of James and Love.

Durant was asked if he felt slighted by not being mentioned among the Finals MVP candidates in the first two games. "But I thought our guys did a great job of fighting and sticking to the game plan outside of a couple breakdowns here and there".

"It's a different game, different season", Durant said. "But we've got to do a better job on K.D".

James finished with 33 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, but he seemed exhausted by the end of the game, had little second half help and the Cavs became the first team in NBA history to go down 3-0 in back-to-back NBA Finals.

The shot gave the Warriors a six-point lead and capped off an unbelievable night for the superstar.

Iguodala hasn't played since Game 3 of the Western Conference finals due to a knee injury.

Get a third option going: If knocking off the Warriors is the goal, a stroke of luck is required.

"Holding Steph to 11 points and Klay to 10, you would think you would win that game". Joel Embiid led the way with 12 first quarter points, while drawing two quick fouls on Warrior starting center JaVale McGee. The Warriors' offense came too easy, a symptom of slow switches and only mediocre closeouts on Golden State shooters. The Cavaliers never recovered, even though more than 44 minutes remained. But in the final minute of the do-or-die game, Love was able to keep up with Curry wherever he went and locked him up as the Warriors guard shot a well-contested 3-pointer that missed badly.

Golden State will get their first chance to close out the series on Friday in Cleveland. None of his teammates scored more than 11. "When they make you pay, it's a 3-0 or 6-0 or 9-0 run, and it comes in bunches".

The Cavaliers came out ready to rumble on Wednesday night, jumping out to a 16-4 lead and working the sold-out crowd into a frenzy.

Golden State, however, will not be unfamiliar with Quicken Loans.

Love controlled the glass, gobbling up 10 boards in the first half alone and finished with 13 rebounds, and cleverly moved off the ball to find ample opportunities as a pressure release valve as the Warriors' defenders converged in the paint. ABC announcer Mark Jackson called it the type of play fans would talk about for years.

Then, as they often do, the Warriors exploded in the third quarter, using a quick 9-3 spurt after the break to level the score and taking off from there. "He just never gets exhausted, even when he's been out 2 1/2 weeks".

Quotable - LeBron James, whether the Warriors seem vulnerable in the series ... "They're not going to beat themselves".

"Tonight, they're up three". We're on our home floor.
