IHOP reveals the secret behind their new name IHOb

In an interview with Business Insider, IHOP president Darren Rebelez was eager to assure customers that the chain wasn't ditching pancakes. The IHOP website has adopted the branding along with the message, "Our new burgers are so good, we changed our name".

The IHOP twitter account has been completely scrubbed of IHOP references. In fact, the majority of tweets to IHOp are none too pleasant.

Everyone's default theory was that the "B" didn't stand for a particular dish at all, but instead to "Breakfast".

The fast-food chain Wendy's has become notorious for its sassy social media presence in the past year, with tweets targeting both McDonald's and Burger King. Chiquita even got in on the act, saying that the B should stand for bananas.

Rebelez isn't anxious that people will be disappointed.

(RNN) - IHOP has been teasing its so-called name change for a week, flipping the "P" to a lowercase "b". Most people assumed "breakfast".

Some people love the new change while others...not so much. IHOP's new marketing campaign is aiming to erase the idea that the restaurant is only for breakfast.

But Wendy's didn't buy it, and trolled the pancake-turned-burger house.

Still, it's worth wondering why IHOP is going through all this trouble.
