Taylor Swift praises the "resilience" of the people of Manchester following the Manchester terror attack previous year.

"You've shown that you're never gonna let anyone forget about those victims".

"Concerts are supposed to be about innocence, and about joy, and about excitement. I just wanted to say, Manchester, is it such an honour to play for you tonight", she added.

As the iconic beat of "Look What You Made Me Do" revved up the Manchester audience, Camila Cabello's preclusion that "Taylor Swift fans are the loudest in the world" was resolutely confirmed.

Swift was speaking as she kicked off the European leg of her Reputation tour in spectacular style.

"This is a really special night for me and everybody on this stage", she said.

"You're so awesome", she said. And I want to send my love and respect out to everybody who in their journey hasn't yet felt comfortable enough to come out and may you do that in your own time.

The 28-year-old was performing at the Etihad Stadium on Friday (08Jun18) when she paused her concert to honour those killed and injured in the horrifying attack in May last year (17).

Swift's Reputation Tour has packed stadiums in the United States with rave reviews.

Taylor moved between three separate stages, not only flying above but actually walking through the stadium, commenting on the outrageous outfits created for the occasion and revelling in the deserved adoration of those fans who have been listening to her for over a decade.

She told them how she had taken some time away from the limelight before making Reputation, explaining how she spent a lot of that time in this country.
