E3 2018: Electronic Arts Gave More Details On Anthem And Battlefield V

EA unveiled a story trailer for its newest role-playing game, Anthem, at E3 2018.

A few new games and a couple of nice surprises ensued, and with those mixed in with the usual EA Sports announcements and a big segment dedicated to the excellent looking Anthem, it was a show worth taking in.

Battlefield V, developed by DICE, already had its own launch event but EA dropped another bombshell regarding the upcoming title of the popular franchise at E3.

EA Play has typically given fans several new trailers for their upcoming games, most notably Federation Internationale de Football Association 18 and other sports titles.

There's no PvP at launch, no couch co-op - yet - and you will be able to play story missions solo.

The game's release date was also confirmed, but it's a while away: February 22 next year. While no screens or clips were shown, during a casual conversation, the game's producer revealed that Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be set between Episode III and IV.

Developed by a small indie team in Berlin, SOS is a game about loneliness. The primary antagonists in the game, a faction about whom we know little more than its name (the Dominion), have learned how to manipulate the Anthem in their pursuit of conquering the world. Unfortunately, there was no glimpse of the gameplay shown and about the release date, the developer gave a vague release period around Holiday 2019. Granted, it was the players' jobs to make the game look good, but they sure accomplished it.

Anthem, BioWare's massive new shared-worlds IP, won't have lootboxes of any kind. The Company develops and delivers games, content and online services for Internet-connected consoles, mobile devices and personal computers.

This time however, the game can be played as a two-player co-op for the first time with a second Yarny being introduced to help navigate the rustic natural landscapes that made the original platforming game such an enjoyable experience. Players can then send their units into battle against enemies, with the goal being to take control of other territories.

Yet.there wasn't much else? Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the final entry in Square Enix's origin trilogy, is out on September 14, so Square Enix is definitely going to make the game a big part of its press conference.

So that is it for the first briefing of E3 2018 - a short if solid showing from EA. Federation Internationale de Football Association 19 will be available on September 28th, 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
