Real Madrid enter race to sign Manchester United target

The Lazio star is attracting interest from a number of European heavyweights after an impressive season in Serie A.

Manchester United want to sign Milinkovic-Savic and are aware of Lazio's £100m valuation.

The powerful midfielder is a summer target for Real Madrid and Juventus, and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the Lazio star.

Fellaini's height and physicality are his biggest strengths, and United boss Jose Mourinho values such qualities in his players.

The race to sign Milinkovic-Savic takes an interesting turn.

In fact, according to reports in Il Messaggero Los Blancos are willing to offer a further £18 million in performance-related bonuses.

The Guardian reported this week that United's transfer deal for the Brazilian midfielder Fred is in the region of £52m and this could perhaps be an indication that United have already addressed their midfield issues without acquiring Milinkovic-Savic. The Serb played a major role as Lazio looked to return to the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 10 years, before the season ended in heartbreak in the final day 3-2 loss to Inter Milan. This comes after the Rome-based club has effectively accepted defeat in their pursuit of keeping a hold of the 23-year-old.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, could be set to enter a period of change.

Madrid, who have won four out of the last five Champions Leagues, are keen to bring the average age of their squad down.

It is unlikely that Milinkovic-Savic's future will be sorted before the end of the FIFA World Cup, where he is one of the players to watch.
