Trump Kim summit: United States president hails deal after historic summit

Trump and Kim arrived not long ago on Singapore's Sentosa Island, the site of their unprecedented summit.

Mr Trump later said the USA would suspend its military exercises that have infuriated North Korea, which analysts see as an apparent concession. The missiles flew back into to their launchers, and a science-fiction like version North Korea took its place - one of crane-dotted skylines, crowded highways, computerized factories and drones, all presided over by a waving, grinning Kim.

Trump also reaffirmed the tight US-Singapore relations by reassuring PM Lee that he was "his friend".

While the discussions between the two leaders were no doubt serious, people have also been talking about a joke from the President that seemed to fall flat on its feet.

Mr Kim's itinerary was reported in detail, which is a rarity for the state's media, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency.

"Featuring President Donald Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un in a meeting to remake history", the narrator concluded, as Korean words flashed on a black background: "It is going to become a reality?" Children skipping through Kim Il Sung square in Pyongyang, North Korean flags waving between images of Egyptian pyramids, the Taj Mahal and the Lincoln Memorial. And I said instead of doing that you could have the best hotels in the world right there.

The credit on the video said it was produced by Destiny Pictures, which disrupted the morning of Mark Castaldo, who owns a Los Angeles-based production company with the same name, albeit with a different logo than the one in the video.

When Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited the worldwide media center for the summit at F1 Pit Building on Sunday, he said it will cost the city state "around 20 million Singaporean dollars" (W16.1 billion, US$1=W1,078) to host the "historic summit". "I'm so happy", he said. Be the hero of his people?. "Think of it from a real estate perspective".

At times, the video appeared to address Kim directly, suggesting he could make a choice that would open North Korea to new investment and step into a starring role in a moment in history with Trump.

What if? The future remains to be written.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said that sanctions should be revisited if North Korea complies with Security Council demands for denuclearization.

"I think he wants to de-nuke, without that, there's nothing to discuss". The US forces in South Korea, meanwhile, told Stars and Stripes magazine that it had not received updated guidance on cessation of training exercises, and "will continue with our current military posture until we receive updated guidance". I never started it for no money.

Japan, the chief US ally in the region, got none of what it wanted - Kim made no promise to address the issue of Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea, and he offered no limits on his ballistic missile programs.

Rodman said he was "naive when I went over there".
