Elijah Wood's game label brings the VR fright with Transference trailer

It had been previously revealed that Transference was meant to blur the line between movie and videogame in a surreal, story-driven VR experience.

"Have you ever dreamed of exploring someone else's consciousness, exploring their deep dark thoughts?"

Transference was a curiosity at Ubisoft's E3 2018 conference a year ago.

The new game is a "psychological thriller first-person exploration VR" experience, and will place players in the "uploaded memory data of a traumatized mental patient". Doesn't sound much like Super Mario Brothers, does it? You the player are wearing a VR headset, but so is the character you embody in the game. From the perspective of different family members-the simulation is constructed from the "brain data" of Raymond, his wife, and their young son-you'll move through their home, discover their secrets, and collect the evidence you need to fix their lives. Pass the laudanum, please.

Transference's Ubisoft Montreal has already partnered up with film production company Spectrevision, and actors and actresses such as Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller & Lisa Whalen are to tell character-driven stories and create mystery.

Transference is due to release in Fall 2018, for Xbox One.
