Federation Internationale de Football Association picks referee Pitana of Argentina for World Cup opener

Jose Mourinho has revealed the four teams he believes will reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.

As well as the relative strength of both teams involved, less importance will be given to friendly games when determining the rankings, while more will be given to the major tournaments.

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) said this year's opening ceremony will have a "slightly different format", focusing on "musical acts and will take place much closer to kick-off".

Russian Federation will get the tournament up and running at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Thursday, and it seems things are finally falling into place after what has been a monumental preparation period for the hosts.

The Pharaohs fell in an arguably reasonable group, in their first World Cup appearance since 1990, alongside Uruguay, the hosts Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia.
