Cipriani starts for England in final test

Set to make hist first England start for a decade is fly-half Danny Cipriani.

'It's a young squad, ' he said. Anyone who knows me, knows that's what I've always wanted.

An outstanding season for Wasps has confirmed Cipriani as England's most accomplished attacking fly-half and at Newlands he is determined to show he can be relied upon to pull the strings.

Despite two deflating penalty-ridden defeats, Jones has done his best to project a buoyant atmosphere this week, insisting he is "loving" the pressure of the job and has "never seen such an upbeat group" of players.

"I know that I must execute". Eddie doesn't want to restrict anyone from being themselves.

"He's got fitter. He's understanding that there's a role to play in the team and he can play it".

It is only the third time Ford has been dropped since Jones took over in late 2015 and for the climax to the series in Cape Town he is omitted from the 23 altogether.

"We are up for the battle and are going to rip in on Saturday", Jones said.

"It is a hard call on George, he is an important part of our team and does a lot of work behind the scenes. He has done some good things in the games, but we just feel for this game it might be the right opportunity (for Cipriani)".

At blindside flanker, Chris Robshaw replaces Brad Shields due to illness and Nathan Hughes starts in place of Billy Vunipola following his injury last weekend.

The England head coach made three other changes to the starting XV, with Joe Marler named in the front row replacing Mako Vunipola, who returned home earlier in the week for family reasons.

Cipriani's inclusion is one of four changes to the side dispatched by the Springboks at Free State Stadium.
