Dr Hathi of 'Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chasma' dies of heart attack

Kavi Kumar Azaad, who essayed the role of Dr Haathi, has passed away due to a massive cardiac arrest. He was unwell since few days and last night he slipped into coma, he breathed last an hour ago. "We lost him to a massive cardiac arrest today morning", Mr Modi said in a statement, IANS reported.

Expressing shock over his demise the show's producer, Asit Kumar Modi, said, "He was an unbelievable actor and a very positive person".

Speaking on his sad demise, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer and promoter Asit Kumar Modi said that he was a talented actor and a positive person. Azad played a pivotal role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah that made it to the Guinness Book of World Records for "airing the highest number of episodes" on television, both original and repeat. He always used to come for shoot even when he was sick. He called today morning saying that he is not well and will not be able to come for shoot.
