Taapsee Pannu: "Disturbing To See One Religion Being Targeted"

In the film, Taapsee Pannu essays the role of a defense lawyer named Aarti Mohammed, while Rishi Kapoor essays the role of the accused named Murad Ali Mohammed. The film is produced by Deepak Mukut and Anubhav Sinha, with the latter also directing the film.

Actress Taapsee Pannu, who stars in Anubhav Sinha's Mulk, has also choreographed a dance number, titledThenge Se, in the film, reports news agency IANS. "I am quite impressed with her directorial eye and someday if she ever wishes to foray into direction she will do well for herself", he explained. On the whole, Taapsee is expected to deliver an award-winning performance in the film and this project is likely going to be just another milestone in her film career as Pink did. Her manager, Her driver, Her housemaid...are all Muslims and they are an inseparable part of her life. She further added that if somebody has to stand up to address the issue, then she would love to take the responsibility. She concluded by saying that this is not the government's matter to address, it is ours. That's what we are trying to express in the film and whatever dialogues I have said in the film I have done it with all my heart. Therefore, the Bollywood diva hopes when the film releases on August 3, this year, the audience watches the film to understand how people who are targeted feel about this issue.

"Mulk" stars Rishi Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Vartika Singh, Ashrut Jain and Neena Gupta amongst various others. The trailer further shows the various stages of a Muslim family struggling to survive due to their religion.
