George Clooney hospitalized following accident in Italy

Local daily La Nuova Sardegna says Clooney's injuries aren't serious, but that he was taken to the John Paul II hospital emergency room on Tuesday.

The accident happened at 8:15 a.m. local time on the SS125, which iss a local street in Olbia-Murta Maria. The car's driver assisted George after the crash and reportedly called an ambulance, according to NBC.

Clooney, 57, had just left his hotel on a scooter when he crashed into a Mercedes, Italy's Chi magazine said on its Web site.

All things considered, it's rather fortunate that George Clooney is recovering well.

It's thought he has sustained a hip injury from the incident and has since been released from hospital. His second shock of the day came when Clooney's bodyguard informed him who he had hit. According to the Cut, he did suffer from "a slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm".

The moment George Clooney's scooter collided with another vehicle in Italy was caught on video. It's unclear when George will return to filming.

As fans may already be aware, George Clooney, whose property is in Lake Como, has been staying on the Italian island while shooting his upcoming series titled Catch 22.

The star who lives in Sonning, Berkshire with his wife Amal Clooney and their two children, doesn't appear to be badly injured. It's not clear whether he'll consider traveling on four wheels from now on, however, having previously suffered a broken rib in a motorbike accident in NY in 2007.
