Liverpool's Klopp defends keeper Karius after latest error

Skip forward to Tuesday afternoon and the German goalkeeper was at it again, this time binning a fairly straightforward catch in Liverpool's friendly against Tranmere Rovers - an error which led directly to the League Two team's first goal of the game...

In the second half, Karius was introduced and was beaten twice as the hosts battled back into the game with the 25-year-old at fault for the first of their goals. Yes he could have made that save even though the shot was not easy to deal with.

"Two brilliant footballers make this mistake, which one was the bigger?"

Karius had a disastrous performance in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, his two shockers contributing to his side's 3-1 loss in Kiev.

He was then ridiculed by many Liverpool fans on social media for a glossy video of his holiday to the United States that showed him both working out and enjoying life in Los Angeles. So let's carry on and make the best of these situations to learn from them, ' Klopp said after the Tranmere game.

'You can stop it by not asking, promise?

The former Borussia Dortmund manager added that he believes that Karius will continue to be criticised until "he has a few fantastic games". None of the three, it should be said, have convinced that they can be Liverpool's goalkeeper for the long term. That you [the media] do what you do, we have to deal with it.

"But it's all about the boys, my door is that wide open so why should I make a decision today?"
