Raheem Sterling criticism is "disgusting", says Gary Neville

Raheem Sterling criticism is

Sterling played a key role as Gareth Southgate's men overcame Sweden 2-0 in Samara to set up a semi-final against Croatia - their first since 1990.

Midfielder Eric Dier has said that he is "so, so happy" for the recognition that England and Tottenham Hotspur teammate Kieran Trippier has received during the World Cup.

Sterling has found his performances being placed under the microscope arguably more than any other England player by certain publications.

Asked what it would mean to defeat England, Dalic said: "It's already a great achievement for us to be in the last four because some big teams are already swimming on their vacation - Argentina, Brazil, Germany and so on".

"He was a constant threat to Sweden".

Some more hysterical commentators even called for him to be dropped from the squad.

He explained that it was a tribute to his father, who was shot dead in his birthplace of Jamaica when Sterling was just two years old.

"It's so clear to see if you were to watch back the games, the importance he has on the team". Sir Geoff, a World Cup victor in 1966, added: "Sterling was terrific".

'Raz, he's a nightmare for us defenders, ' said the defender.

Vinne Jones has slammed Raheem Sterling and claimed he would be playing for a club like Exeter City if he did not have pace. "I think he has been fantastic, his consistency has been incredible and I think he fully deserves it".

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic identified Sterling as one of the primary obstacles that stands between his team and a place in the final.

"I think Raheem Sterling is an important player because he is fast and unsafe alongside Harry Kane", Dalic said in a press conference Sunday.
