World Cup semi-final England v Croatia

World Cup semi-final England v Croatia

To be fair to Neville he has been gushing over England's performances in Russian Federation, so he will be quite happy to have been proved wrong by wing back Trippier, centre-back Maguire and goalkeeper Pickford, who have all been huge so far for the their Country.

The Los Blancos star and his Croatia side stand in the way of England and their hopes of reaching their first World Cup final since 1966.

However, ahead of England v Croatia tonight, I can't disagree this time.

All Gareth Southgate's team have to do now is see off Croatia and then beat either France or Belgium in the final.

England play Croatia on Wednesday, July 11 with kick off at 7pm.

They return to Moscow for the game against Croatia, having played in the Russian capital in the last 16 against Colombia, albeit at the smaller Spartak Stadium. For a stage as grand as the FIFA World Cup, a combination of elite footballers within a dynamic tactical system is often the easiest route to strike gold, as Didier Deschamps has managed to do with France, leading Les Bleus to successive finals in 2016 Euro and 2018 World Cup. "Right", I thought, "I'd better put those socks on this time".

He said: "This team is nowhere near the level they're going to be capable of, partly because of their age, but also because they'll have more big-match experiences over the next few years with their clubs and with us". If I'm honest, I don't think there are many England players who would get into this Croatian team. I felt something unusual in my knee and after talking with the doctor on the sideline we decided I should come off.

"I just have a feeling that England will find a way to win".

Waistcoat mania has well and truly become something else to the point where tomorrow is also being referred to as '#WaistcoatWednesday' in support of England's crucial semi-final game against Croatia.

"They are proud to wear the shirt".
