Zsa Zsa, Reigning 'World's Ugliest Dog,' Has Died

Zsa Zsa, Reigning 'World's Ugliest Dog,' Has Died

Megan Brainard of Anoka, Minnesota, Zsa Zsa's owner, called the dog's death "devastating", as reported by Today, July 11. The dog was 9 years old.

Although her final weeks alive were spent travelling and making television appearances, Zsa Zsa spent over half her life in a puppy mill before she was rescued by a non-profit organization and adopted by Brainard.

Zsa Zsa, the World's Ugliest Dog, has, sadly, become the world's ugliest angel dog. "I'm in shock still", she told CNN sister network HLN. "It's probably going to be the same with her passing". There, she took home first prize: a trophy, $1,500 in prize winnings, and the hearts of everyone.

After her big win, Zsa Zsa's family said, "We are so excited for her, she deserves this". Soon after, the Brainards found her on PetFinder.com. "We were all saying our goodbyes". "It's been two weeks and I still don't believe it", Brainard told the TV show.

Zsa Zsa is known for her pink toenails and long tongue. Brainard named the sweet, lovable pup after the Hollywood legend Zsa Zsa Gabor, because the pretty pooch enjoyed lounging on the couch "like a lovely model".

The World's Ugliest Dog title holder died early in the morning. "She never really showed much excitement, but yes, she was definitely living it up after she won", her owner said.
