Adult film star Stormy Daniels arrested in OH strip club 'setup': lawyer

Adult film star Stormy Daniels has been arrested at a strip club in OH after being accused of allowing a customer to touch her.

Daniels has been embroiled in a lawsuit with the President since early March, to get out of a non-disclosure agreement relating to an alleged affair she had with him in 2006.

Trump forcefully denied the affair.

But her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, said she was taken into custody after she allowed a club patron to touch her.

Michael Avenatti said in a tweet the charge was "politically motivated". "This was a setup and politically motivated".

Columbus police have not confirmed any arrest, and neither have Siren's Gentlemen's Club. It reeks of desperation.

"It's absurd that law enforcement resources are being spent to conduct a sting operation related to customers touching performers in a strip club in a non-sexual manner". "We will fight all bogus charges".

An Ohio law prohibits anyone who isn't a family member to touch a nude or semi-nude dancer.

Her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, told followers on Twitter it was the: "same act she has performed across the nation at almost a hundred clubs".

He later tweeted that he expected Daniels to be released on bail "shortly" and charged with a misdemeanour for "touching".

Columbus police tell CBS News they're not aware of Daniels being arrested, and as of early Thursday, Daniels wasn't being held by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.

She is hoping to have the non-disclosure agreement thrown out on the grounds that it is not valid because Mr Trump never signed it.
